REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST No. RFEOI-2009-1 EVENT HOSTING AT VANCOUVER PARK LOCATIONS DURING 2010 OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES
AMENDMENT #1 The closing time has been amended to Dec. 31, 2009, for EOI submissions on a case-by-case basis (after the initial closing time of March 27/09).
Summary
Event Hosting will play an important role in delivering the excitement of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games to visitors and residents through showcasing events and experiences. Event Hosting will also provide select corporations and other organizations with an excellent platform to engage their target audiences and allow their brand to have a lasting impact on all attendees.
The Vancouver Park Board is inviting corporate, media hosting companies, and other organizations to submit EOI Submissions to locate corporate or commercial events, marketing, or host positions in Stanley Park, the Roundhouse Community Centre, Vanier Park, Queen Elizabeth Park, and VanDusen Botanical Garden during the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games period. These Event Hosting sites represent some of the most desirable locations in Vancouver and will offer end users truly unique settings and experiences. The key features of these sites include:
- Location, location, location (most sites are adjacent to Vancouver's Downtown Core/entertainment areas; several sites are adjacent to 2010 Olympic Winter Games venues and celebration zones)
- Strong recognition value (most sites represent the quintessential/iconic Vancouver experience)
- Flexibility (most sites are capable of accommodating virtually any event size and activation/programming requirements; sites are available for use by both Olympic sponsors/partners as well as non-sponsors/partners)
- Potential for "Common-Use/Shared" Event Hosting sites (while it is anticipated that most Event Hosting sites will be retained by a single user, select locations may be made available for use by multiple organizations (e.g. 3 days of use by one organization, 4 days of use by a second organization, etc.)
EOI Submissions will be received by the Park Board up to 4:00 P.M. (Pacific Standard Time) on Friday, March 27, 2009 (the "Initial Closing Time"). After the Initial Closing Time, the Park Board will continue to accept and review EOI Submissions on a case-by-case basis until December 31, 2009.
