The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games Ltd (LOCOG) invites expressions of interest for the provision of buses and coaches with drivers to transport Games Family (eg athletes, officials, media and sponsors) during the London Olympic Games period in 2012.
About the Opportunity:
Following successful registration of interest, LOCOG will be inviting firms to participate in a tender process for provision buses and coaches with drivers to transport Games Family (eg athletes, officials, media and sponsors) during the London Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Most of these vehicles and drivers will need to be based at temporary depots near the Olympic Park in London for the period of use. Accommodation for drivers working away from home could be provided.
A total of approximately 1,500 to 1,700 buses and coaches will be required - some for a few days, others for up to 80 days. A variety of types and sizes are required - from mini-buses to double deck buses, accessible vehicles and high-specification coaches.
It is anticipated that LOCOG will contract directly with each bus and coach operator to provide the resources. The depots will be managed by operator and LOCOG/TfL staff, and tenders will include opportunities to provide management and scheduling services in addition to vehicles and drivers.
