Summary:

When the world’s best winter sport athletes from more than 80 countries compete here in 2010, they’ll be joined by their International Sponsors, National Olympic Committees and Sport Federations. All of them will be looking to carve out a piece of the community to call their own during the Games. From themed hospitality houses to meeting and gathering places, to special events and services, how can local businesses and suppliers help turn Metro Vancouver and Whistler into the world’s “home-away-from-home” in February 2010?

The sponsors discussed their roles in tour package sales, corporate hosting as well as corporate outfitting. What they have in common is that they supply the needs of visiting sponsors and National Olympic Committees. With such a large responsibility, they will need the help of local businesses to help them fulfill these needs. As such, procurement for accommodations, warehouse space, transportation, staffing are only a few of the many goods and services that they will be looking for leading up to 2010.
