Summary:

Having the Olympic and Paralympic Games in your city means a travel experience like no other, for visitors and tourism businesses alike. So, who’s coming to the Games and what are Olympic visitors expecting to find? How can our local travel and tourism sectors make the most of this international experience and leave a lasting impression of British Columbia for the world?

Guests and visitors will include members of the National Olympic Committees and International Olympic Committee, athletes, media, sponsors and their guests, clients and staff. For many sponsors, their staff slowly will be moving into the city at least one year in advance and will be looking to purchase local goods and services. What is important for local businesses is to think long-term: the 2010 Winter Games may only last two weeks but the relationships and business partnerships that are formed will prove to be a lasting legacy of the 2010 Winter Games.
